nemadji potttery comes from the arrowhead region of minnesota. the company is discontined but you can still find these beautiful one of a kind pieces on etsy and one of my favorite stores in williamsburg- the joinery.
once a long time ago a former employer referred to my outfit as ‘a riot of textures and colors’ … most likely without meaning to give me what was to be one of my favorite compliments ever. i would bestow such a compliment on Dries Van Noten’s Spring 2013 ready to wear collection, knowing that he would probably appreciate those words as much as i did.
today i made a life changing discovery: many of the prints used in the collections of several fashion houses i admire are actually designed and printed by a Dutch company from the small town of Helmond. Vlisco has been designing and producing African inspired wax prints since 1846. WOW.
